Installation variants

There are two variants available for installation of eserp:

eserp Server installation

The eserp Server installation is used for central installation of the eserp Desktop application and the corresponding server services.

These instructions refer to eserp version 1.x.

Instructions for eserp version 2.x and higher can be found in the German installation help.

Deployment

If Deployment is activated for the server installation, installation of the eserp Desktop as (Client) or (Terminal) can be performed via the shared Public directory (public para directory).

If possible, this directory should be specified as a UNC path for the server installation.

The links eserp Desktop (Client) and eserp Desktop (Terminal) will be created there. These links contain the parameters for the installation.

A silent installation without further prompts or admin rights is then performed for the current user only.

For all users

/ALLUSERS

For installation in the Program directory

%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\ES2000 ERRICHTER SOFTWARE GMBH\ESERP DESKTOP

and hence for all users of the PC / terminal server.

Administration authorizations are required for the /ALLUSERS installation variant.

Updates

The central eserp installation is updated and the updates for the eserp Desktop are prepared with the eserp Server installation.

Required authorizations

Administration authorizations are required to instal the eserp server installation.

The installation also installs drivers and other software components (system requirements) among other things. A system restart may be required.

Installation is by default in the directory %ProgramFiles(x86)%\es2000 Errichter Software GmbH\eserp Server. The directory can be changed during installation.

Parallel installation

A setup ID can be specified for a parallel eserp server installation (for example: productive and test environments).

A separate database and para directory are required for a parallel installation; see eserp Server installation.

For this, create a shortcut to the eserp server installation file and add the parameter /SetupID="[Installationname]" to it.

The same SetupID must be used for the parallel installation when installing updates.

eserp Desktop installation

The eserp Desktop installation sets up eserp on a local PC workstation or a terminal server.

The Client installation is provided with updates automatically when the central eserp installation is updated.

Required authorizations

Local administrator authorizations are required for the basic installation, because drivers and other software components are also installed; also see Extended system requirements.

Normal user authorizations are sufficient for installing the appropriate updates.

The eserp Desktop installation is usually located in a shared folder (Deployment) on the server. The user performing the installation must have authorization to access the shared folder and to perform the installation.

To simplify installation for the user, a link to the central eserp Desktop installation for the client and terminal server installation is provided in the central Deployment folder.

eserp Desktop (client)

The link for the client installation only installs the eserp Desktop for the currently logged in Windows user in the directory %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Programs\es2000 Errichter Software GmbH\eserp Desktop (cannot be changed).

Administration authorizations are only required for the installation if additional software components / drivers and their updates are to be installed.

eserp Desktop (terminal)

The link for the terminal installation installs the eserp Desktop for all users in the directory %ProgramFiles(x86)%\es2000 Errichter Software GmbH\eserp Desktop. The installation directory can be changed during the installation.

Administration authorizations are required for the installation.

Extended system requirements

The following installation requirements are in addition to the general system requirements:

Administrator authorizations are required for the installation and for an update of these components.

If the corresponding authorizations are not available in the clients, you can also distribute the components and drivers before the installation.

It may be necessary to reboot the system to complete installation of the software components.

Required files / installations

The necessary components / drivers will be installed during the installation if they are not already present on the target system.

You can also distribute the corresponding files in advance. You can download the corresponding installation packages as a zip file (Testumgebung.zip).

.Net Framework Version 4.7.2 or later

Part of the current operating systems.

If not present, the .Net Framework can be downloaded from the Internet and installed during the installation.

DBExpress driver files for Firebird SQL Server (Version 4.10.15.0)
