These instructions refer to eserp version 1.x.

The eserp Desktop installation sets up eserp on a local PC workstation or a terminal server.
The Client installation is provided with updates automatically when the central eserp installation is updated.
For a new installation of the eserp Desktop, please first check the eserp system requirements (EN).
Installation and configuration of the eserp server is required for installation of the eserp Desktop.

You can install the eserp Desktop application either using the links in a shared parameter folder (Deployment) or using the installation routine (eserp_desktop_setup.exe).
Administrator authorizations are needed for the initial installation of eserp on a workstation because additional software components and drivers must also be installed. Normal user authorizations are sufficient for installing the appropriate updates.
Installation of the eserp Desktop using the Deployment folder
The eserp Desktop installation is usually located in a shared folder (Deployment) on the server. The user performing the installation must have authorization to access the shared folder and to perform the installation.
To simplify installation for the user, a link to the central eserp Desktop installation for the client and terminal server installation is provided in the central Deployment folder.
eserp Desktop (client)
The link for the client installation only installs the eserp Desktop for the currently logged in Windows user in the directory %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Programs\es2000 Errichter Software GmbH\eserp Desktop (cannot be changed).
Administration authorizations are only required for the installation if additional software components / drivers and their updates are to be installed.
eserp Desktop (terminal)
The link for the terminal installation installs the eserp Desktop for all users in the directory %ProgramFiles(x86)%\es2000 Errichter Software GmbH\eserp Desktop. The installation directory can be changed during the installation.
Administration authorizations are required for the installation.
Installation of the eserp Desktop using installation routine
You can use the installation routine eserp_desktop_setup.exe to install the eserp Desktop.
You can select the installation mode when you start the program.
Install for me only (recommended)
This option only installs the eserp Desktop for the currently logged in Windows user in the directory %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Programs\es2000 Errichter Software GmbH\eserp Desktop (cannot be changed).
Administration authorizations are only required for the installation if additional software components / drivers and their updates are to be installed.
Installation for all users
This option installs the eserp Desktop for all users in the directory %ProgramFiles(x86)%\es2000 Errichter Software GmbH\eserp Desktop. The installation directory can be changed during the installation. This is also the suitable installation on a terminal server.
Administration authorizations are required for the installation.
