Zip codes / towns

The zip codes and the towns associated with them can be recorded in this table according to the country setting.

Country

Selection of a country recorded in the Nations reference table.

Only those countries that have the same language code as the logged in user will be shown for selection.

ZIP code

Input of the corresponding ZIP code of the location recorded under Town.

Town

Input of the location according to the entered ZIP code.

If you have a file containing the ZIP codes / Locations values for a country, these values can be imported into the ZIP codes table (esDB Management -> Transfer).

Additional functions

You can activate the With ZIP code check option for each country in the Nations general reference table.

If the With ZIP code check option is activated for a country, the ZIP code / Location specification MUST exist for this country in the ZIP code / Town table. Specifications that are not in the table will be rejected.

If the With ZIP code check option is not activated for a country, the table is available for selection. The information regarding the ZIP code and City is not required in the reference table for this.

When you change the Country field in an address, a check is made to see if the With ZIP code check option has been set for the new country.

If it is, the zip code and the city will be checked against the reference data. If the zip code is in the reference table, the city will be set accordingly.

If the city is in the table and there is only one entry for this city, the ZIP code will be set. If there is more than one entry for the city, a selection dialog filtered according to the city opens.

If there are no entries for the city, the selection dialog opens without a filter. If you select a ZIP code or a city, the corresponding other field will always be set from the reference data.
